He later settled in Charleston, West Virginia, where he worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and eventually became Director of Research. After decades of service to the state of West Virginia, Dr. Ramakrishna and his wife, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Ramakrishna, made the decision to return to Bangalore and dedicate their lives to children in need.
