Popular localities for pre-primary in Pune
Choosing a play school in Pune
Pre-primary is the one stage where distance beats prestige. A three-year-old spending forty minutes each way in a van loses more than they gain from a better-known name, which is why parents in Pune usually shortlist within a few kilometres of home first and compare from there. AdmissionSchool lists 60 schools in Pune, Maharashtra that admit at play-group, nursery or KG level, with annual fees spanning ₹18K – ₹7.20 L/year.
Where the pre-primary schools are
The densest clusters sit in Wagholi, Hadapsar, Bhosari, Hinjewadi — useful if you are still choosing where to live, because a locality with several pre-primary options gives you a fallback when your first choice fills. Each listing above shows the board, the grades offered and the fee band we hold for that school.
Does the board matter at this age?
Less than continuity does. 45 CBSE, 2 ICSE, 1 IB or IGCSE of these schools carry the child right through to senior school, so a play-school seat there is effectively an entry point rather than a two-year arrangement — worth weighing if you would rather not repeat the admission process at Class 1. What to check on a campus visit
Visit before you pay. Ask how many children share one adult, where they nap, how washroom help is handled and what happens on a day your child is unwell. Those answers separate schools far more reliably than a brochure does. The nursery admission process page covers dates and documents.
